Saying
of the Legend:
This story is derived from the mythology story of ancient times. During the Han Dynasty, there was one intellectual named Dong
Yong. His family was
utterly destitute. First
there was no sheet tile on the roof, no awl on the ground. Even
after his father passed away, he had no money to buy a coffin to
bury him. But he could be called a filial piety son as he sold
himself to serve a long-term slave working for a rich master. His
filial sentiments moved the seventh beautiful fairy maiden in the
heaven and she descended privately to the world to marry him as
husband and wife. According to the legend, they bore a son named
Dong Han. The seventh fairy maiden worked on the days and weaved
cotton cloths during the nights, so that she could help him repay
his debt to redeem him. Only sighing that good times did not last
long, after one year, the fairy maiden returned to the heaven,
henceforth husband and wife did part.
