Hougang Sheng Hong Family Service Centre

In 1999, the Ministry of Community Development in collaboration with the Taoist Federation (Singapore) had invited Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple Association to form a Family Service Centre to provide welfare to the elderly and children in Hougang estate.  The Management Committee of LKC Sheng Hong Temple Association accepted the proposal as this met its objectives to reach out to the community and to involve in charity works.

The LKC Sheng Hong Temple Association started to raise fund during the Birthday Celebration of its main Deity, Qing Xi Xian You Bo Zhu (City God).  A 22-day opera was performed by Taiwan Chen Mei Yun Opera Troupe, in which the proceed from the sale of tickets was donated to the Hougang Sheng Hong Family Service Centre.
