Taoist San Qing Gong (Singapore)

Established in 2003, San Qing Gong is a subsidiary of Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple Association.  This is the first Taoist Temple in Singapore that manages a columbarium.  San Qing Gong is a 3-storey building and consists of two blocks, including a main hall at the entrance of the building, worshipping Yu Qing Tian Zun (玉清元始天尊), Shang Qing Tian Zun (上清灵宝天尊), Tai Qing Tian Zun (太清道德天尊), and other Deities, and a hall enshrining several statues of Confucius.

On the right of the Temple is a wall plaque with scriptures of Taoism written by renowned calligrapher, Chen Han Bin (陈翰彬) and crafted by professional artists.  The plaque measures 13.5 meters in length and is known in Singapore as the “First Taoist Plaque”. At the rear of San Qing Gong is a 4-storey building that houses Huai Si Tang (怀思堂).  This is where ancestral tablets and niches, regardless of surnames, are installed.

San Qing Gong seeks to promote Chinese culture and Taoism.  The contemporary building of San Qing Gong encompasses traditional and modern architectural designs.   The Taoist Federation (Singapore) and San Qing Gong Taoist Cultural Centre (Singapore) are also housed in this building.  Both the Taoist Federation (Singapore) and Taoist Singapore Federation Youth Group have played a significant role in promoting respect, peace and harmony in the community to strengthen the social fabric of Singapore.
